FAQs
What is structured gel?
A structured gel manicure is unique due to the way the foundation of your base gel is applied to the nail. Everyone’s nails come in different shapes and sizes, and so the benefit of a structured gel application is the strength that it provides to the nail structure.
Structured gel is popular with people who want to grow out their natural nails, have bitten nails, nails that grow out flatter (without a curve), or nails that can grow longer, but may break after achieving a certain length.
What is a dry manicure/Pedicure?
The dry manicure/pedicure process involves the use of a professional e-file to exfoliate and clean up the cuticle/foot area without the use of water.
The benefit of a dry process includes:
A more sanitary process
Better retention for gel products
Detailed cuticle/callus care
Why Japanese and Korean gel?
The first brand I bought when I started to learn nails was Kokoist. I was fortunate to find it very early on in my education, and from there, I learned how the nail industry in Japan and Korea take gel formulations very seriously.
Japanese gels are often formulated in a pot rather than a bottle and offer high quality, pigmented gel that allows for me as your nail tech, to work the most efficiently on you without sacrificing quality.
Korean gels similarly, are formulated very intentionally and offer high quality products in very fashionable colors and trends that allow me to provide clients the best products on the market.
How long have you been doing nails?
I started learning how to do nails back in 2020 as I watched over 150+ hours of videos, soaking in all the information and learning about Japanese gel. As I practiced on myself, I started to practice on family and friends until I realized how much I enjoyed not just the art, but the feeling of providing care to someone else through nails.
In 2022, I enrolled in a nail speciality class at Christine Valmy, and completed my state board examinations later that year in the state of New York.
